Member Raku Firing at Grand Opening Party

We are so excited to announce that at our Grand Opening party for our Oakland studio we will be doing a quick Raku firing! This will be a much shorter and less in depth firing compared to the workshops we will host in the future. This firing will be free and only for a limited number of members due to space and the time allotted. Participation will be on a first come first served basis through a sign up sheet that will be released on 9/18 at 12:30pm. To sign up you will go to the If you do not get selected you can save any pieces made for a future Raku workshop where participants will be allowed to fire more than one piece and learn about the whole process. A couple things to consider with this raku firing:

• Size restriction of 7” by 7”
• Small cups/cylinders, bowls, or sculptures only
• Selected participants must arrive between 4-4:30pm to glaze their bisqued pieces in order to allow for the glaze to dry before they are fired
• One piece per selected members
• Pieces should be made with a groggy clay
• No plates or flat pieces, pieces on the smaller side can be made with BMix.
