Demoing a simple little person or a dog will teach students how to emphasize limbs and body parts. Using this framework, students can begin to think about what sort of creature (or otherwise) they'd like to create for their first project. Does it have definable legs and arms? Does it stand upright or is it assuming a certain position? Is there implied movement? Week 2: Building Onwards & Upwards Overview: Students will be attaching two or more sizeable pinch pots to create a large, hollow vessel. Creating limbs (if applicable) and allowing them substantial drying time before attaching to the body. Week 3: Attachment & Joint Care Overview: Students will be attaching limbs onto a body: scoring thoroughly and using a rubber rib to erase the seam where the pieces connect. Week 4: Embellishing & Surface Decoration on Greenware Overview: Introducing texture to a sculpture with the use of slips and carving tools. Week 5: Glaze DAY
