Middle School / High School Workshop
Grounded - A Clay and Wellness Experience for Middle School / High School Students
Service Description
✨Grounded: A Clay & Wellness Experience for Middle & High School Students✨ Thursday, August 13 | 4:30–6:30 PM Take a break from the busyness of summer and join us for an intentional afternoon of creativity, connection, and wellness. Grounded is a unique collaboration between Clayroom Oakland and Fleurish + Vine, designed specifically for middle and high school students. More than a pottery class, this experience invites young people to slow down, unplug, and discover the calming, grounding power of working with clay. Using coil-building and hand-building techniques, students will create their own ceramic cup or bowl while exploring mindfulness, patience, creativity, and self-expression in a welcoming and supportive environment. Students will experience: • A guided clay-building workshop led by Kris Chang, Head of Youth Instruction at Clayroom Oakland • Wellness practices that encourage mindfulness and intentionality • A chance to connect with peers in a relaxed, creative setting • The satisfaction of creating a functional ceramic piece by hand No prior clay experience is necessary. Date: Thursday, August 13, 2026 Time: 4:30–6:30 PM Location: Clayroom Oakland Cost: $60 Limited scholarships are available because we believe every young person deserves access to meaningful wellness experiences. Please contact Rhona Taylor at rhona@fleurishandvine.com if cost presents a barrier. All inquiries are welcomed with care and confidentiality. We look forward to creating with you.
